Meet Amanda Patella

Amanda blends instinct, artistry, and real-world know-how so a house becomes more than a project, it becomes a home.

Her journey to design wasn’t planned. Growing up in Sarasota, she once dreamed of working with animals, or diving into archaeology, or even pursuing veterinary care. A detour through photography and a Photoshop class while in college revealed her real passion: combining art + architecture. From there, and lots of coffee and late-night drafting, she earned her Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida it became her calling.

That background shows. Amanda takes on projects with curiosity, empathy, and a refusal to settle for easy answers. She thrives when clients bring strong opinions, or just messy uncertainty, because to her, a blank wall isn’t a problem—it’s a story waiting to be told.

Her Approach

Whether you know exactly what you want or you’re just trying to quiet the noise, Amanda believes every home deserves a voice.

Rooms under her care are never a collection of trends, they’re layered, refined, and timeless.

Durability, comfort, and practicality matter. But so does the kind of beauty that reveals itself slowly, in morning light, in empty rooms, in lived-in calm.

More Than Just Design

Her hometown roots inform her sense of place as much as her aesthetic.

As a child, she toggled between ambitions: archaeologist, artist, veterinarian, architect, until design gave her a way to satisfy both art and structure.

Knows more polka lyrics than most people know cities, a quirky holdover from holiday traditions with Wisconsin relatives

Finds satisfaction in simple wins, she genuinely enjoys vacuuming and pressure-washing (which, if you ask her, is instant gratification)

In Studio: Amanda & Mark

Design isn’t theory, it’s lived, felt, and practiced. Here, Amanda joins Mark for a conversation about what drives her work, how she connects with clients, and why the smallest details often tell the biggest story.

Her Recent Work

From a moody contemporary retreat in Wellen Park to a grandkid-friendly family home in Lakewood Ranch, Amanda’s portfolio spans everything from fresh builds to tricky remodels. What holds them together is her signature blend of clarity, personality, and craft.
