I have always loved interior design. I remember spending hours and hours sketching elevations and floor plans in notebooks as a kid. In the tiny midwestern town I grew up in, interior design was not a career option I ever considered. As I got older and broadened my horizons, I fell in love with interior design. I moved to Florida to help my dad renovate several properties he had purchased and wanted to flip. I enjoyed the process and purchased my own “fixer-upper” at age 22. While renovating and staging houses for my dad (and working on my own home), I came across an opportunity to work in the event production and design industry. I ended up curating events around the community for over nine years, but when COVID shut down the event industry, I knew it was time for a change. I decided to go back to my first passion: interior design; I haven’t looked back.

I love the way interior design can completely change the way my clients feel in their home. The emotional aspect of design is powerful, and I am grateful for the opportunity to enrich my client’s lives through their home. It sounds silly but it is true: when you feel happy, relaxed, and inspired in your home your quality of life changes.

about holly

Amery, Wisconsin. I moved to Sarasota in 2011 to escape the cold and live where I grew up vacationing.

It changed throughout the years: I remember wanting to be a teacher, a psychologist, or a fashion stylist. Oh! And an an actress after winning an award in “Drama Club” (I thought I was a pro after that).

I grew up on a farm in Wisconsin. We had horses and both of my grandparents who lived nearby were dairy farmers!

I kind of miss the days when it was OK to be bored. We are constantly stimulating our minds through technology and social media. I think boredom is good, especially for kids. It gives them the opportunity to use their imagination. I think as adults, we are highly focused on productivity and maximizing every minute of the day. I don’t like that I have to schedule time to meditate in order to break from life’s hustle and bustle.

I love organizing! Going through messy drawers and cabinets to make sense of it all brings me joy.

A few of the pretty things I pulled for a design consultation with the lovely (and SO sweet) @sarahgtucker 🤍🤍🤍 ...

Absolutely loved this special project on north Longboat 🤍
This property was originally owned by our client’s in-laws. For years, she dreamed of one day being able to put her own spin on this family beach retreat. She hired Jill and me to guide her through a full remodel and redecorating project that improved the functionality of this 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom 1,300 SF condo overlooking the gulf of Mexico. A few family heirlooms were mixed in with vintage pieces and custom-designed furniture to create an eclectic and curated look. The style required a lot of attention to detail and utilized many wallpapers, a chevron tile floor and lots of trim on pillows, upholstery and drapes. It was SO much fun. Old School glamour is back on Longboat Key! ✨
