The Wellen House

This home was built around the rhythm of Southwest Florida living. Not overly styled or forced, just relaxed, welcoming, and ready for whatever the day brings. Working from a thoughtfully designed floor plan, our goal was to layer in warmth, texture, and clarity so buyers could fully experience how the home lives. The result is a space that feels open, natural, and complete, proof that the right details can bring a strong foundation to life.

A Home That Lives the Way You Do

Set within Wellen Park, this model was designed to reflect a lifestyle that feels both casual and considered. The builder created a layout with flexibility at its core, spaces that can shift, adapt, and support a range of everyday routines. Our role was to step in and show how that flexibility translates into real life.

From the start, we focused on creating a palette that felt coastal without leaning into the expected. Fresh tones, soft contrast, and layered textures keep the space light and inviting while still grounded. Because the walls and ceilings carried a consistent tone throughout, it became even more important to introduce variation through furnishings and materials, bringing balance without overwhelming the architecture.

In the front bedrooms, scale became the opportunity. Rather than minimizing the rooms, we leaned into their potential, designing them with queen beds and thoughtful layering to demonstrate how comfortably they can function. Each space feels intentional, but still flexible enough to adapt, whether as a guest room, office, or something in between.

As the home opens up, everything centers around the kitchen, dining, and living areas, the natural heart of the layout. The volume of the space called for furniture that could match it, so we anchored the room with properly scaled pieces, larger rugs, and soft textures that bring it all together. We partnered with Robb & Stucky for key furnishings, then layered in additional elements from a range of sources to keep the space feeling collected and approachable.

Beyond the main living area, the plan continues to unfold. A private rear suite, paired with an adjacent media room, creates a secondary living zone that offers both separation and connection. It’s a layout that supports everything from hosting guests to carving out quiet space, depending on how the home is used.

The primary suite carries that same sense of balance. It’s a well-sized room, but with the same wall color running throughout the home, it could have easily felt flat. So we focused on layering in contrast through the furnishings, mixing tones, adding drapery, and bringing in greenery to give the space some life. The bathroom had a bit more personality to work with. A shift in paint, paired with larger-scale accessories and artwork, helped it feel more finished and intentional without needing to overbuild it.

Throughout the project, the focus remained on how each space would feel day to day. With limited opportunities to introduce architectural elements, we leaned into layering, drapery, greenery, texture, and carefully selected furnishings to bring warmth and depth into the home. Even transitional spaces, like the entry from the garage, were treated as functional moments that support everyday routines while still feeling considered.

The finished home feels open, adaptable, and easy to settle into. It highlights the strength of the original layout while offering a clear vision for how it can be lived in.

We’ve always believed good design doesn’t need to compete with architecture. It should support it.

And when it’s done right, it doesn’t draw attention to itself. It simply makes the home feel complete.
